Jesse Cors kiteboarding
in the surf at Jupiter Beach, Florida. The camera is mounted on
a custom rig I made that sits about 36 inches behind the rider and
can swing 170 degrees from left to right and back. I call it the
ShadowCam.

At the core of the
ShadowCam is a high-resolution waterproof video camera made by
VioSport called the Adventurecam
H2O. I have used other helmetcams and POV cams before and in
my opinion VioSport are the best. Well built, lightweight, indestructible
aluminum and glass housing with a 480 TV line Sony Hyper HAD 1/3"
CCD chip that produces crisp video. To build your own POVcam to
film kiteboarding:
-
-
2.
Fit a small camcorder into a waterproof box like a
Pelican 1150.
-
3.
Run the cable from the VioSport thru the valve hole and seal.
-
4.
Plug cable into your camcorder and use as a VCR in recording mode.
-
5.
Mount the waterproof VioSport Cam on your helmet or anywhere you
can think of.
-
6.
Go film something cool.

The helmet used in
this video is a silver Gath Gedi. If you are smart enough to know
when to wear a helmet then you will appreciate the smart design
of Gath. Super light and comfortable you will barely know it is
protecting your precious brain.

Steve at Murrays tells me a Gedi helmet option coming soon will
be built-in waterproof headphones which you plug into your Ipod.
